The Government Should Look Into The Issue Of Teenage Mothering In Nigeria

Most especially in villages and most especially to the uneducated, the issue of teenage mothering had become something to talk about viral. I travelled to a village with the name withheld for an assignment I was to execute, there, I saw a number of teenagers backing babies. I decided to ask one where the mother was and she confidently told me the baby was her second child. A lady of certainly less than 15years having two children already? I was surprised and dumbfounded already. I cared to ask more to the second girl backing a child and she also told me the same thing. The problem the world is facing is truly big! A child who can not feed by herself/himself having two children already? This little children get married and live it with their parents to nurture the offsprings together with them. What if the parents accidently die? What become of the teenagers? Let's not completely blame the children from engaging in teenage pregnancy or marriage because the problem actually started with the parents anyways. I always blame parents because if you know you are poor give birth to a small number you can train in school! Education helps allot in enlightening student over cases of early pregnancy and premarital sex act and many more. The government had failed also to make situations easier by the poor parents to educate their children there by arising these situations. I am emphazing more to the poor parents because of the maximum number they carry. The children are then misled by peers. The influence that Susan is doing this and that would make them want to practice too there by resulting to early or teenage pregnancy or teenage marriage. Greedy parents should stop given out their teenage children for marriage in exchange for money and other benefits. Government should create counselling rooms for even the uneducated! the ones living at home where these measure norms would be addressed or enlightened. Children should also be aware of the kind of friends they keep and should not always practice what the other peer is doing that way teenage mothering would reduce.
