Opinion: Here’s What The EFCC Should Do To Hacker of JAMB’s Site

It is publically known that the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) says hackers have gained access into its intranet site and altered the profiles of it ad hoc staff and diverted the sum of Ten Million Naira which was set aside as allowance for the ad hoc staff. It was said by the JAMB boss that the hacker was successful in gaining access to the site with the aid of key logged. This actually seems not to be factual but it has been confirmed. According to Oloyede who is the registrar of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the Board disclosed the ploy after a careful examination which led to the arrest of Zubairu Sahabi from Takum in Taraba State along others and he was handed over to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission. Therefore, I am on the opinion that the EFCC should kindly make use of the hackers to help them fight cyber-crimes instead of sending them to jail. This opinion may sound awkward but the truth is, those JAMB’s site hackers can be used as a medium to trap those that are into such crimes. Lastly, they hacker (Zubairu) should be carefully interviewed to know what prompt him into such act, who knows it could be one among the staff that initiated the plan as a result of factors.
