OPINION: 9 Reasons Why Benue State Youths Should protest With Immediate Effect

So many things are happening in Benue state that are not supposed to be over looked by the youths and citizens. The faster the intervention the better for the well-being of everyone living in the state. I am therefore, on the opinion that the youths should capitalize on the below points and protest so that things will be better for everyone. 1. Hike in school fees in state owned tertiary institutions which has made it impossible for poor people to send their children to school? 2. Prolong delay in payment of salaries, pensions and or gratuities which is killing our old parents gradually but surely. 3. Dangote cement is produced in Benue. We inhale the dangerous toxins that are common with such industries. The transportation of the cement out of the factory has brought Gboko Makurdi road to it's current condition. This cement is transported to far distant states and sold at a far lower price than we buy in Benue 4. Oranges, tomatoes, mangoes etc are still perishing in our village markets 5. Our women are still dying in labour as a result of near absent of primary health care centres 6. IDPs are permanently abardoned in their camps. Much attention is not given to them. 7. We have leaders acquiring almost the whole state for themselves while the Masses get poorer 8. Our people are constantly being slaughtered as a result of poor internal security management by our leaders 9. Employment is almost impossible in the state and when it takes place at all, it is for children of the elites. By engaging in a peaceful protest I believe that the state government will not give deaf ears to the youths therefore, considering their request.
