THE YOUNGEST AUTHOR IN NIGERIA: SILAS AZENDA

Meet the youngest Author in Nigeria by name Silas Sesôn Azenda who resides with his parents beside University of Mkar, Mkar Gboko, Benue State Nigeria.
His parents are Mr. Solomon Lumun and Vivian Dooshima Azenda.
Silas Sesôn Lumun Azenda is the Head Boy of Aunty Ayam Nursery and Primary School Gboko, Benue State Nigeria; he’s in Primary 6 (RED). He is Twelve years old (12).
He actually started reading perfectly well at the age of 5 years old. According to him, when he was still little, his parents do give him a lot of books to read and as he was reading them he fell in love with different books of different kinds.
Silas Sesôn Azenda is the youngest Author in Nigeria and has written numerous books, some of them are:
1.    Lu a Shighe U Eren Msen (Have Time To Pray) written @ the age of 7 years old
2.    Love God and Other Stories
3.    My Journey to Lagos at 10

According to Silas Sesôn L. Azenda, what inspired him was:-

1.    Very early Introduction to writing by his Parents.
2. Appearance of Professor Wole Soyinka on the screen attracted him because of his unique appearance. (His White Hair)
On his request to know who he is, his parents explained that he is a Professor. Asking who a Professor is at his tender age; his parents answered him that a Professor is a person that writes very much. He then said that if it is by writing very much he will become a Professor like Professor Wole Soyinka.
He then left his parents quietly to his Self-made Office and wrote so many things and brought back to his parents and asked them if he has become a Professor, his parents answered him “YES” then he started addressing himself as a Professor.
His mentor, Mr. Sekav Hanior of University of Mkar, Mkar Gboko , Benue State Nigeria has greatly influence the Publication of his books and introduced him to Association of Nigerian Authors {ANA} where he attended three consecutive international conventions.
Incidentally, he was invited to Benue State Government House to meet Professor Wole Soyinka where he (Silas Sesôn Azenda) was introduced to His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom and the Professor (Prof. Wole Soyinka). The introduction was done by Mr. Charles Iornumbe, the Chairman, Association of Nigerian Authors {ANA} Benue State Chapter as the Youngest Author in Nigeria.
In a Phone Conversation with Silas Sesôn Lumun Azenda and his parents. I asked him what advice did he have for the nation and he started by advising the children, teenagers and youths. He said “They should not hide their talents, they should have a positive mind set, they should read books and always bear in mind that books can’t bite nor harm them, so they should make books their friends and they should not be discourage for reading, but they should make reading a habit in them”
For the parents he said “Parents should always encourage their children to read books and parents should do their best to provide all that is needed for the success of their children”.
